Seal Design

DMR™ Axle Seals are a unitized, one-piece design, used in environments where outside contamination can damage the sealing lip. The seal design features a spring loaded sealing lip running against the inner wall of the metal casing, with dirt exclusion provided by two wiper lips.

The seal configuration incorporates metal on metal contact around the OD to prevent leaks between the seal and the hub. Metal on metal contact also occurs between the seal and the shaft. This ensures that the seal is stationary with respect to the shaft, thus protecting the shaft from wear.
